The Federal Government has granted West Midlands Open University, a new online university, a license to offer degrees in Nigeria.

In a statement, the university blazoned that it has entered licensing and formal blessing from the National University Commission to offer degree- granting programmes online in Nigeria.

“ This blessing creates instigative new openings for the new university to offer its different range of accredited programmes encyclopedically, ” it stated.

It explained that online education had come an essential tool in moment’s fleetly changing world and the West Midlands group wasn't a freshman to the edutech assiduity.

According to the statement, the university has formerly invested in a CBT centre where over 1 million scholars have taken both original and transnational online- grounded examinations.

“ WMOU will be leading the way in making top- notch education accessible via the internet, ” it further said.

The author of West Midlands Open University, High Chief Adebayo Akande, said, “ The University plans to catalyse public development and global competitiveness by utilising sustainable technologies and high- quality programs to give training and education to learners. ”

He added that the university’s programmes were designed to meet the requirements of working professionals and scholars who want to advance their careers.

The statement stated that WMOU would offer a comprehensive range of high- quality programmes, including undergraduate programmes and short literacy programme instrument courses all of which will be delivered online.

“ This makes it possible for scholars to learn from anywhere in the world, anyhow of their position or circumstances.

“ All programmes would be developed by academic experts with a focus on furnishing practical and applicable knowledge and chops that meet the demands of the ultramodern global pool, ” the statement said.
