Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

  • The Director-General participates in the 90th anniversary celebrations of Latvia
    On 27 November 2008, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO, and Ms Helena Demakova, Minister of Culture of Latvia, opened an exhibition on the Latvian song and dance celebrations entitled “The Largest Choir in the World/When Many Become One”. The exhibit was organized at UNESCO Headquarters as part of the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Latvia. Ambassador Karklins, Permanent Delegate of Latvia to UNESCO also attended the ceremony.

  • The Director-General signs a Cooperation Agreement with FLACSO
    On 7 November 2008, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO, signed an Agreement with Mr Francisco Rojas Aravena, Secretary-General of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), which renews the long-standing cooperation between the two organizations. Also present at the signing ceremony were Mr Adrián Bonilla, Director of FLACSO Ecuador, and a large number of Ambassadors, Permanent Delegates and Representatives from Latin American and Caribbean Member States to UNESCO that are also members of FLACSO.
