Valparaiso
PROJECT: the port, motor of the reorganization of the city
The end of the 20th century was marked by three important stages
for the city and the port of Valparaiso: the possible rediscovery
by the population of a port that was completely closed by the governing
political regime; the implementation of a port reform in all the
country; and the inscription of the city, in 2003, in the World
heritage list, symbol of a mythic harbor city that opens again to
the world…

The
most more famous Chinese monument twinned with the castle of Chambord
Mrs. Emmanuelle Mignon, director of the office of the President
of the Republic and president of the administration bureau of the
national Region of Chambord, has traveled to Beijing to sign a twinning
agreement between the Temple of the Sky and the castle of Chambord.
The castle of Chambord was included in the world heritage List in
1981 (including in the Val de Loire in 2000) and the Temple of the
Sky in 1998. These two works that date slightly from the same time
and present common symbols have also wished to start cultural exchanges.
The Temple of the Sky is the most emblematic monument of its country
and receives more than 11 million visitors per year, and the castle
of Chambord is a symbol of the architecture of the Renaissance throughout
the world.

Nigeria's Osun Sacred Grove, one of the last remnants of primary
high forest in southern Nigeria, was inscribed on UNESCO's World
Heritage List in 2005. This inscription was the culmination of a
50-year campaign spearheaded by a group of artists, a Yoruba priest
and an Austrian artist called Susanne Wenger. The Musée du
Quai Branly is organizing the French première of "La
Dame d'Osogbo" - a film about Wenger's life and the sacred
forest - in collaboration with the World Heritage Centre to focus
attention on the importance of this World Heritage inscription and
the value of the site...
