Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Research Grants to Young Scientists on Great Apes of Africa
The Director-General of UNESCO, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, to allocate US $100,000 to encourage scientific research and work related to great apes by young scientists under the framework of the MAB Young Scientists Research Award Scheme. This financial support is targeted to the 15 least developed of the 21 African countries that are range States of great apes: Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania.

Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation
This prestigious Prize has been made possible through a generous donation to UNESCO by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al-Said, Oman. The objective of the Prize is to afford recognition to outstanding contributions by individuals, groups of individuals, institutes or organizations in the management or preservation of the environment, consistent with the policies, aims and objectives of UNESCO, and in relation to the Organization's programmes in this field. The Prize, which is provided on a biannual basis, consists of a diploma together with a financial reward.

Thirty-Four Outstanding Heritage Achievements Awarded - EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards
The Awards will be presented to the representatives of the awarded achievements at the annual European Heritage Awards Ceremony, which will take place on 8 June 2007 in the Stockholm City Hall in Sweden . Europa Nostra's President, HRH the Prince Consort of Denmark, Ján Figel', Member of the European Commission responsible for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, and HRH Princess Madeleine, Patron of Europa Nostra Sweden, will participate in this major event. The ceremony will be honoured by the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden.

Label patrimoine européen (European Heritage List)
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, the French Minister for Culture, launched a new initiative to identify and highlight the European significance of buildings and sites and to communicate them to the wider public. In France , the first selected sites are: the abbey of Cluny , the first site to receive the "Label", the house of Robert Schuman in Scy-Chazelles and the Court of Honour of the Pope's Palace in Avignon . A few days after the launch, the Greek Minister of Culture, Mr Georgios A. Voulgarakis, affixed a plaque on the Acropolis in Athens and the Italian Minister of Culture, Mr Francesco Rutelli, did the same at the site of the Capitoline Hill in Rome .

Arrange university Francophonie: 43 diplomas licence and master distance learning - 700 grants
The university Agency of Francophonie (AUF) proposes for the fourth consecutive year, in initial formation or continues, a whole of open and remote formations (FOAD). The AUF offers 700 allowance of remote studies which will make it possible to deal with the 2/3 of the costs of these formations. Thanks to the allowances, an important part of the teaching expenses and inscription is thus dealt with, but any person eager to be formed remotely can profit from a preferential price granted by the Universities diplômantes to the AUF.
