Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

Starting on Monday 26 November new Underwater Cultural Heritage web site
As part of the regional action of UNESCO Havana, and inside the process of redesign of its Web Portal, from Monday 26 November 2007, it will be fully operational at www.unesco.org.cu a new Web site on Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH): Latin America and the Caribbean. Ratification by Italy of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Paris, 17 October 2003)
On 30 October 2007, Italy deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. In accordance with the terms of its Article 34, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Italy three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 30 January 2008.

Ratification by Paraguay of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (Paris, 20 October 2005)
On 30 October 2007, Paraguay deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. In accordance with the terms of its Article 29, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Paraguay three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 30 January 2008.

Saving our sunken treasures: meeting on underwater cultural heritage
Six years after its adoption by UNESCO in November 2001, the Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage will be the theme of an information meeting on 23 November at Organization Headquarters. The event will bring together site managers and experts in underwater archaeology from all over the world to review current issues in this emerging discipline.

Accession by Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (Paris, 20 October 2005) On 5 November 2007, Lao People’s Democratic Republic deposited with the Director-General its instrument of accession to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. In accordance with the terms of its Article 29, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Lao People’s Democratic Republic three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 5 February 2008.

On 15 October 2007, Mongolia deposited with the Director-General its instrument of accession to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. In accordance with the terms of its Article 29, the aforementioned Convention will enter into force with respect to Mongolia three months after the date of the deposit of its instrument, that is to say on 15 January 2008.

"Workshop on the Legislations in the Mercosur related to the Conventions approved by UNESCO ", - 6 November 2007 - Montevideo – Uruguay
Organized by the Culture Sector of UNESCO Montevideo, in coordination with the Directorate of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay. Within the framework of 25 the Regional Coordinating Meeting of the Committee of Cultural Mercosur, this Workshop will be made to present the current situation in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay on the topic. Scholars Maria Luz Endere from Argentina, Cristiane Benedetto from Brazil, Arístides Escobar from Paraguay and Gonzalo Carámbula from Uruguay, will present the studies made and will present communications on the recommendations to follow.
