Forum UNESCO-University and Heritage (FUUH) is an UNESCO Project for undertaking activities to protect and safeguard the cultural and natural heritage, through an informal networkof higher education institutions. FUUH is under the joint responsibility of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain. This internet website is not an official site of UNESCO but a website created and managed by the UPV within the framework of the project FUUH.

PDF Australia and Vanuatu to run a joint campaign for seats on the World Heritage Committee
Australia and Vanuatu are both standing for election to the World Heritage Committee the upcoming elections during October's UNESCO General Conference in Paris. Aotrearoa/New Zealand, represented by Tumu Te Heu Heu,steps down from the Committee this year. During his term Tumu has been very proactive in increasing the World Heritage community's awareness of the cultural and natural heritage of the Pacific region, culminating in the World Heritage Committee meeting in Christchurch in July. Vanuatu and Australia hope to be able to continue this work...

Ratification by Djibouti of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (Paris, 16 November 1972)
On 30 August 2007, Djibouti deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. In conformity with its Article 33, the Convention will enter into force, with respect to Djibouti, three months after the deposit of this instrument of ratification, that is to say on 30 November 2007.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Loiret Loire discovery centre is reissuing the documentary “Mémoires de Loire” as a DVD. The official launch will take place at the Orleans Festival de Loire, where two of the reports will be distributed.

PDF Extension of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn site
Inscribed on UNESCO’s World heritage List in 2001, this natural site is a remarkable example of the formation of the High Alps, including the coldest part of the European Alps the largest glacier of Eurasia. The world heritage Committee has increased its surface from 54 to 82 sq. km.

La Chaux-de-Fonds y Le Locle - Candidates to UNESCO’s world heritage
These two cities, exceptional examples of symbiosis between industry and urbanism, were built in the 19th century by and for the jewelry trade. This new site honors the history of the region and proposes detailed information on the content of the candidacy, which will be presented in December 2007 in the World Heritage Center, in Paris. The final decision could take place in the summer of 2009.

Bordeaux, UNESCO World heritage
On June 28, 2007, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) inscribed Bordeaux, Port de la Lune, on the World heritage list as exceptional urban center. The distinction of this vast perimeter of 1810 hectares is a exclusive. UNESCO’s World heritage Commission had never distinguished a urban center of this magnitude.
