ABSTRACT

Thang Long ­ Hanoi is a historical urban possessing an exceptional intangible heritage treasure which is closely connected to its historical landscape ­ what create distinctive characteristic of Thang Long ­ Hanoi. In process of urbanization of Hanoi, the treasure has been seriously facing the risk of being buried in oblivion or losing. Basing on current situation of intangible cultural heritage of Thang Long ­ Hanoi, the writing raises question how to develop community responsibility in protecting cultural heritage and suggest proposed solution for conservation of cultural heritage of the 1000-year city.
